Raiders fail in bid to bump tractor

Witnesses are being sought after thieves broke into a farm building and attempted to steel a tractor using a leather trouser belt.

An unknown number of culprits removed the lock of a padlocked gate to gain access to a farm yard sometime between noon and 5pm on Friday, August 30.

A leather trouser belt was found tied to a tractor there, where it appears the burglars had attempted to move the vehicle, leaving tracks in the mud.

Hand tools, a heavy duty battery and ladders were taken from an outbuilding there.

If you have any information about the incident, call police on 101.
