Police have warned residents to protect themselves from doorstep callers after a spate of suspicous incidents in Alfreton.
An incident took place at around 7.20pm on Monday, December 1, of a man going door to door around the Buntingbank Close area of South Normanton.
It is believed that the man had acted in an aggressive manner whilst attempting to sell goods.
Officers also received reports from residents regarding door step callers around Broad Meadows and Rangewood Road in South Normanton, Alfreton.
Community safety inspector Russ Dakin said: “I would encourage residents to remain cautious and to report any suspicious activity.
“If someone calls at your door, always ask for identification and if they are selling goods, ask for their pedlar’s certificate.
