Police and youth workers make a splash with youngsters

Bobbies and youth workers in Pinxton teamed up with youngsters to make a splash at Darley Abbey on an Easter holiday canoeing trip.

Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team and the South Normanton Area Multi Agency Team (MAT) took eight youngsters to Darley Abbey on Monday, April 4.

The trip was funded by Pinxton Parish Council, and the Adventurous Activities Team at Derbyshire County Council helped with the event.

PCSO Marrion Jeffery, of the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was another excellent display of partnership working from the police and Multi Agency Team which we were very happy to be a part of.

“Everyone enjoyed the day and got something out of the experience, and I would like to say a huge thank you to Pinxton Parish Council and Derbyshire County Council’s Adventurous Activities Team who made the trip possible.”
