A new play area could be on its way to Porterhouse Road in Ripley - more than two years after equipment was removed from there through anti-social behaviour.
Councillors at Amber Valley full council meeting agreed to sign the land, owned by the authority, over to Ripley Town Council on a 25 year peppercorn rent.
The town council will have to carry out a consultation on the equipment that is installed as part of the lease agreement. Ripley ward borough councillor Liz Bowley said: “I’m fully supportive of the extension of this lease for 25 years. I think it should provide some stability in terms of play facilities for youngsters in that area.”
