People in the East Midlands spend around £3,700 a year on beauty, a new survey has found.
The research, by Totallymoney.com, found that the biggest spenders, looking at people from 30 of the UK's biggest cities, were people in Leeds, who spend around £7,000 a year each to look good, ahead of those in London who pay out £6,300. People in Derby and Nottingham spend around £3,700 a year.
To work out the spending habits, the company looked at how much people spend on a variety of areas including sun beds and spray tans; hairdressers; nails, gym memberships and teeth whitening.
They have then created a fully interactive tool, which breaks down each city and how much people spend each year on each area. And in both Derby and Nottingham, the biggest area for spending was on face products with an average of £607.
