At the Penguin Club Christmas celebrations, members, their carers and other volunteers made a presentation to Caroline Dellow and Tony Storer who recently stepped down from their roles as club leader/treasurer and chairman.

Tony has been involved with The Penguin Club, a voluntary-run social club based in Belper for adults living in the Amber Valley area with learning difficulties, since its inception in 1977. Its aim then as it is today is not only to provide social activities for its members but to give parents and carers of members a much-needed break for one night a week.

Caroline first became involved in 1997, taking on the role of leader in the following year and treasurer in 2006.

The recently appointed chairman, Owen J Briggs, presented them with an engraved pen and tankard in appreciation and thanks for the
dedication and commitment they have shown in their roles and for their continued support as volunteers to the new leadership team.
