Parish council sets its precept

HORSLEY Woodhouse Parish Council has set its annual pre-cept, which this year will be £25,000.

The money is the amount of cash it will raise from parishioners and will be collected as part of the council tax bill, which also includes money from residents to pay for police and borough council services.

A report in the latest edition of the parish council’s Wudhus News says the figure includes provision towards a black spot light scheme at Wood Lane in the village.

It will also cover the cost of replacing swings at Horeston Recretion Ground, completion the refurbishment of the Millennium Wall in the village and adding to the village’s Christmas lights display.

The precept will cover the financial year 2011 to 2012 and was set at the annual parish meeting.
