Ofsted’s nod to adoption

THE Government’s education watchdog has judged Derbyshire County Council’s adoption service as good with some outstanding features.

The Ofsted report – released during National Adoption Week which ran from October 31 to November 4 – identified the commitment and expertise of staff as a significant strength.

Areas where the service could improve, according to inspectors, were in obtaining the wishes and feelings of younger children and the timing of life story books and later life letters.
