Nimble Fingers members to stage first bazaar

FANS of crafts are being invited to go along to a group in Jacksdale called Nimble Fingers.

The group has been running three years and now meets at Jacksdale Community Centre on Main Road every three weeks. The next session is on September 24 from 10am to 3pm and people can come and go as they please, said leader Jacky Starke.

It has around 30 people attending sessions, aged from six to 75, and offers crafts including card making, knitting and needlecraft. It is dedicated to bringing back traditional crafts, including offering things like ‘quilling’, which involves making items like leaves to decorate cards. On Saturday, October 15, it is staging its first ever autumn bazaar to boost club funds, when items made by members will be on sale, including hand-made Christmas cards. It will also be a chance for people interested in going along to sessions to chat with members to find out more. The bazaar will be from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the centre.
