Amber Valley’s MP is gearing up to host his latest job fair, with more than 50 local employers signed on to present employment opportunities.

Nigel Mills has organised the event to help the area’s job-seekers connect with work and training vacancies.

The event is being held at Ripley Leisure Centre on Friday, October 7, 10am to 3pm.

Nigel said: “The latest figures show that unemployment in Amber Valley has fallen by nearly 60 per cent since 2010.

“To build on these strong figures, I’m committed to helping even more constituents back into work so our local economy can grow even more, and we can keep progressing towards our target of full employment.”

Previous events have seen thousands of constituents attend, with hundreds finding work or training opportunities as a direct result.

The fair is free of charge to attend for everyone and there is no need to register in advance.

Trentbarton are sponsoring the event by providing discounted bus travel to the fair on the day and Amber Valley Borough Council are providing free parking.

Nigel added: “These jobs fairs are a great way to bring employers, training providers and jobseekers together.

“There will be a wide range of organisations offering a variety of opportunities for full-time and part-time positions, and for people of all ages. I hope to see you there.”

Employers who will be available on the day include Bombardier, Severn Trent, Thorntons, NHS Supply Chain, BPI, Tesco, HL Plastics, Owen Taylor, Gowercroft, Futures Housing Group and Derby County Football Club.

Training providers such as Derby College, Acorn Training, Vision Apprentices and Webs Training are also attending.
