Man stabbed during attempted robbery in Derbyshire

A man was stabbed in the stomach during an alleged attempted robbery in a Derbyshire town.

A 30-year-old man said he was walking along a jitty off Nelson Street in Long Eaton when he was approached by two other men at around 3.10am on Sunday, March 13.

He told police they demanded his phone before stabbing him in the stomach. They left empty handed.

The two offenders were described as white, aged between 18-20 years old and about 6ft tall.

Officer says the men were of medium build and both wore dark plain hooded tops, with the hoods pulled up over their faces.

The victim suffered a minor wound that did not require stitches.
