Man punched unconscious in Ripley attack

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Nottingham Road, at around 5.15am on Saturday, November 17.

A 29-year-old man was walking home with friends when they passed a group of men and a verbal altercation ensued.

One of the men then punched the 29-year-old in the face causing him to fall to the ground and briefly lose consciousness. The incident is said to have occurred in the street somewhere between Association bar and Boyes department store.

The victim was taken to Royal Derby Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for injuries including a fractured jaw.
