Laughs aplenty in church’s latest play

Matrimonial mayhem is in store for a struggling playwright in a new comedy set for the stage in Alfreton.

Suspicious in-laws, a bungling bank robber, a bogus priest and a host of would-be brides are also set to add to the fun in “Sealed With a Loving Kiss”, set to premiere at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20th, at Alfreton Wesley Church in Ellesmere Avenue.

The three-act comedy is the latest offering from the church drama group, which has been staging plays for more than 20 years.

Producer David Hopkinson said: “There are plenty of laughs as complications multiply and a would-be bridegroom struggles to hide his problems from his fiancée.

“Our cast have had lots of fun rehearsing the show and we are sure that it will prove another winner with our audiences.”

Admission is free and there will be a charity collection.

Refreshments will also be served after each performance.
