Noel Hartley, 57, of Lakeside Close, New Whittington, Chesterfield. Order to continue with suspended sentence for two offences of assault by beating varied to being committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for one year with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and unpaid work to continue.

Jack Thomas Singleton, 20, of James Street, Newbold, Chesterfield. Admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order by failing to report to a relevant officer. No adjudication. Dealt with for the original offences which were subject to the suspended sentence including entering a dwelling as a trespasser and stealing a pair of trainers, assault, sending Facebook messages which conveyed a threat and damaged a door valued at £800. Sentenced to ten weeks of custody.

Angela Lane, 43, of Beighton Street, Ripley. Found guilty of stealing food items valued at £428.70 from Sainsbury’s. Community order to last until June 26, 2017, with a four week curfew and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement. Must pay an £85 victim surcharge and £420 costs.

Martin Joseph Neil, 40, of Pear Tree Drive, Shirebrook. Pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of vodka belonging to a Co-op Store, at Shirebrook. Fined £80 and must pay £13 compensation and £85 costs. Pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody having been released on bail. No separate penalty.
