Investigation into A38 crash

Police are investigating the major crash which caused traffic chaos on the A38 in Derbyshire yesterday.

The incident involved a car and motorcycle, and the 62-year-old rider from Nottingham sustained serious multiple injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a black Nissan Navara pickup, was not injured, and now officers investigating the serious collision have issued an appeal for witnesses to step forward.

Police said: "The crash happened at about 8.50am yesterday (Thursday June 2) on the southbound carriageway of the A38 between Ripley and Coxbench, when a car and a motorcycle collided.

The rider of the black Keeway Superlight 124cc bike, a 62-year-old man from Nottingham, sustained serious multiple injuries. He is being treated in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
