THE friends of a young Selston woman who died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) have taken part in a sponsored walk in her memory.
Sarah Harrison’s best friend, Shannon Merrill, 19, organised the walk to raise funds for the charity SADS UK.
Sarah collapsed and died in May last year aged 18 when she was walking across Selston Recreation Ground.
Shannon said: “All of her close friends and family wanted to raise money for charity and have a good day in memory of her.”
More than 50 people braved the rainy weather and donned fancy dress to take part in the 10-mile walk, which began at Selston Recreation Ground.
Added Shannon: “We set off at about 1pm and considering the weather, 52 people turned up so that was great. Everyone enjoyed themselves.”
