Hospital staff say they are overwhelmed after more than £3,000 was raised for specialist equipment to be named in memory of Loscoe woman Louise Marriott.
Louise, a former employee of Amber Valley Borough Council, was 35 when she died from acute myeloid leukaemia in September following a sudden and short illness.
Now staff at the ECMO unit at the Glenfield Hospital, in Leicester, where she was treated, want to name a piece of specialist equipment, used for transporting patients, after her. Louise’s mother and father, John and Shirley, along with Louise’s family and friends presented the cheque to staff. John said: “On behalf of Shirley and myself I want to extend my thanks to Louise’s family, friends and colleagues who donated to the fund in memory of our darling Louise.”
