Scheme to be piloted

A SCHEME to speed up access to patients’ details when they are away from home or when their GP practice is closed, is to be piloted in Erewash.

This week every patient aged over 15 in the borough will receive information about summary care records, which allow medical staff to view medical records via a secure electronic system, when no other information about them is available.

The first stage of the plan, aimed to be rolled out across Derbyshire, will make records of 81,160 patients across Erewash available for the scheme.
