A BUMPER crop of entries was on show at the South Normanton Gardeners’ Association’s annual show.

Autumn fruit and root vegetables did particularly well, but high winds, low temperatures and rain during the year took their toll on the floral entries.

Pot plants added a tropical splash of colour, while judge Mrs King cast her eye over a large number of entries in the domestic category. This was the 13th year that Mrs King has judged at the show.

Nigel Needham, association chairman, said: “We are very grateful and greatly value her contribution to the show.”

The show opened to the public in the afternoon. There was an auction of produce, plant sales, tombola and refreshments.
