We’ve had lots of entries in our FREE Specsavers Life Thru the Lens readers’ photo contest - but if you’ve not entered yet we want you to get out and snapping too.
Our winner will land a top prize of the latest digital camera, thanks to Specsavers, of King Street, Belper.
We staged the event for the first time last year and it was a run-away success. It’s free to enter this time again too.
We’ve had lots of pictures of animals and insects , which are great, but we’d like you to get us some pictures of local landscapes and landmarks to really show us what you like about living in the Ripley and Heanor area as well.
We are asking you to take your pictures in the Ripley, Heanor and Alfreton areas.
You don’t need to have the latest camera to get your picture either, you could use your phone as many of our entrants did last year - and you could be the winner of our competition.
The finalists and our eventual winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.
Andy McBride director at Belper Specsavers said: “We’re really pleased to be sponsoring Life Thru the Lens again this year.
“The standards were excellent last time - but we know you’ll top that this time. We can’t wait to see your entries.”
Ripley & Heanor News Editor Julie Crouch said: “We’ve had some great entries so far, but we’d like you get out and snapping this weekend. We’d love to see some local landmarks and scenes. Perhaps Shipley Country Park, Butterley Reservoir or Heanor Memorial Park?
“But it’s up to you and I’m sure there are lots and lots great places to take your pictures. I can’t wait to see them either.”
There will be two age groups this time - up to 16s and 17 and over as there were so many great entries last time from young Ripley & Heanor News readers.
Once you’ve taken your picture, check out how to enter (it’s easy) and send in your snaps - and good luck!
Email your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org or post them to Life Thru the Lens, Ripley & Heanor News, 8 Heanor Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 8ER. They must be marked Life Thru the Lens and say where it was taken. Two entries per person. You must include your FULL name, age, FULL postal address and day and evening phone numbers No computer-manipilated images will be accepted.
Pictures must be your own work and entries are copyright of the Ripley & Heanor News.
The finalists and winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from the News and Specsavers. The panel’s decison is final. Usual competition rules apply.
