Flooding and torrential rain has left roads treacherous to pass around the area.
Motorists are advised to take precautions on the roads after two cars collided in Crich on Roes Lane this morning.
The vehicles had to be towed away from the scene after the collision at 8.20am in a flooded dipped part of the lane.
All passengers are believed to be safe.
The road has been closed by the Highways Agency until the flooding subsides.
Chesterfield Road in Oakerthorpe is also said to be heavily rain logged and motorists should drive with care.
