Fine has put me off Ripley

I decided to do a spot of shopping in Ripley after dropping my daughter off at work. I parked up near The News offices at 9.20am and returned 20 minutes later to find a £70 parking ticket on my windscreen.

It took me about 10 minutes to find the extremely small and very high notice outside the NatWest Bank to say that you can’t park until after 10am.

The local council wonders why shops are closing down in the local area, perhaps if they made parking restrictions clearer and encourage people to shop local instead of them going into Derby or East Midlands Designer Outlet, then they may notice a difference in the town.

It’s certainly put me off shopping local!
