Spreading Christmas cheer was the top priority for staff and students at a Somercotes school this week.
Crowds gathered at Somerlea Park Junior School to immerse themselves in festive vibes at a Christmas market event, with many stalls and games on offer.
Along with the usual shopping, singing and Santa Clause, the school also put on activities such as face painting and a Chocolate tombola.
Local traders attended the event, offering stalls selling teddy bears, jewellery and cakes.
Father Christmas also made a special appearance at the school to hear the children’s Christmas lists.
“It was brilliant to see so many faces and get everyone in the festive mood,” said midday supervisor Alison McDonough.
“We all had a lovely day.”
The school would like to say a special thanks to those who donated raffle prizes, including Iceland, Parfett’s, KFC, RockFall, B and Q, Salon 38, Somercotes Office Supply and Thornton’s.
