Fame for wannabe quiz contestant

A Heanor lorry driver has made his TV debut in a prime-time advert after failed bids to appear on quiz shows.

Steven Brough was picked to deliver a line alongside Theo Paphitis and Nick Hewer from The Apprentice to promote the Government’s working pensions scheme. Steven, 44, of Peatburn Avenue said: “I did the test as a joke - but I got picked out of 500 people. I have tried to get on television a few times. I have had auditions for Deal Or No Deal and The Biggest Loser.”

The advert has aired between episodes of Coronation Street and The X Factor and can now be seen on Youtube where Steve delivers his line - “I’m definitely in!”
