a STREET in Duffield has been named as the third most expensive place to live in the East Midlands.
The average house price on Hazelwood Road is £790,000.
Suren Thiru, housing economist at Lloyds TSB, said: “Unsurprisingly, the most expensive residential streets in England and Wales are in London, but Nottingham’s Valley Road takes the title in the East Midlands.”
Unlike in other parts of the country the ten most expensive addresses in the region are widely spread around - in towns such as Northampton, where the average house on Golf Lane costs £795,000, and Leicester’s Swithland Lane, where the average price is £675,000.
The report by Lloyds TSB was compiled from over 1.78 million UK post codes supplied by the Royal Mail in conjunction with the Land Registry database of housing transactions and prices.
However, it is only based on streets where there have been at least seven transactions over the period are included in the analysis for England and Wales.
