The Parachute Regiment Association met at an Awsworth pub to raise money for an important event later this year.
Members of the association’s Nottingham branch, whose ranks include ex-Paras from the Eastwood and Kimberley area, gathered at the Hogs Head to raise some money for a monument being unveiled by Prince Charles in July.
Prince Charles will unveil the Pegasus monument at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire and association members have been key players in raising money for the statue.
Ex-Para Ken Sellers who lives in Nuthall said: “The memorial will serve as a worthy tribute to the brave servicemen and women who have given impeccable service to airborne forces in the past 70 years.”
Members of the group are planning to attend the unveiling ceremony on July 13.
Prince Charles is a Colonel of the parachute regiment.
