THE stars of Emmerdale are taking part in a charity weekend to raise funds for multiple sclerosis.
PC Michael Bott has organised a ‘black tie’ dinner dance and a cricket match at Denby Cricket Club in July.
The dinner is on Saturday July 23 and will be hosted by some of the cast members past and present of Emmerdale. The following day a police team will play an Emmerdale team at cricket at a fun day at the same venue.
PC Bott said: “We’re hoping for a great turn-out to support this worthy cause. Last year we held a cricket tournament and fun day which raised more than £1,000. The dinner starts at 7.30pm with a glass of champagne before the meal at 8pm. An auction will follow before the dancing begins.”
Tickets are £75 each or £500 for a table of 10 with a £250 prize on the night for the winning ticket. On Sunday the fun day starts at noon. Events include a hog roast, local craft stalls, inflatable games and rides, a raffle with locally donated prizes and the 20/20 cricket match. PC Bott added: “I’m hoping that Chris Chittell, Frazer Hinds, Alicia Gallagher, Roxanne Shahidi, Georgia Slowe, Mathew Bose, Julia Mallam and Joe-Warren Plant will be part of the Emmerdale cricket team.” Call 07855 556050.
