A bonfire left unattended in Ripley had to be extinguished by the fire service.

Yesterday, Saturday, August 18 at 10.12pm a crew from Ripley were called out to reports of a fire in the open.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called out to Waingroves Road, Ripley. The crew used one hose reel jet to extinguish an unattended bonfire.”
