Teacher’s Berlin trip informs Holocaust lessons

A RIPLEY teacher who has recently returned from a Berlin visit where he studied the Holocaust, says he is determined to share the lessons he learned from history.

Steve Richardson, a teacher at Mill Hill School, visited memorials and museums and heard from experts including Wolf Kaiser, Director of Education at the House of the Wannsee Conference, where the Final Solution was rubber-stamped. Steve said: “Visiting historical sites in Berlin and sharing good practice with teaching colleagues made this a course that will inform my teaching for many years to come. This is an important topic but such a challenging one to teach.”
