PUPILS at Chaucer Junior School took to their scooters on Tuesday afternoon to raise cash for Sport Relief.
Year five children measured out a mile on the playground and each class then took it in turns to scoot ten and a half laps.
Pupils are hoping to raise £500 from sponsorship and cash they have already collected by selling wristbands and running a tuck shop.
Jane Oldmall, who organised the fundraising, said: “The children all had a great time.
“They were going round the playground and really enjoyed it.
“They’ve been in training for weeks and children in year five have been working to set the event up and work out how much we have raised.”
Before the event children had an assembly about where their money would go and the people it would help.
After their efforts pupils had a Question of Sport-themed assembly.
