A FRITCHLEY playgroup has received a £500 boost from a county councillor.
Fritchley Under Fives (FUFs) playgroup received a cheque from Cllr Chris Jackson which will be used to buy new toys and resources - top of the list is a new farm set.
Organiser Cindi Blunt said: “The group runs sessions for children aged two to school age in a fun and friendly setting. They have a wide range of toys and activities which change every day and follow different themes according to the time of year.
“They make regularly visit Fritchley CE Primary School which helps the children to become comfortable with the school and eases their transition to ‘big school’.”
There are 29 children attending FUFs playgourp on different mornings and they are currently learning about dinosaurs and wild animals which involves making clay models, paintings, collages and masks.
