Staff and young people from Blend Youth Project in Ripley on Nottingham Road have completed a community art project at Lons Infant School.

The four day project saw the teenagers transform a storage container at the front of the school into a feature art piece.

Headteacher of Lons Infant School Amanda Godber, said:“From our point of view we would like to say a huge thank you to all the young people who gave their time, we now have a storage container which represents the ethos of our school. It looks bright and friendly and instantly shows visitors to our school our beliefs. Our outdoor environment has been much improved. “

Ian Tannahill, head of youth work development at Blend Youth Project said: “The fact that these young people voluntarily gave up their time to work on this art project is a great example of the positive contribution young people make to their local community.”
