Dogs rescued in blaze drama

TWO dogs were rescued from a brick outbuilding in Heanor after a fire broke out in sheds nearby.

Crews from Heanor and Ilkeston were called to Gladstone Street, at 3.20pm on Monday, to tackle fires in three wooden outbuildings. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and left the scene at 4.10pm. A burning shed on Holbrook Street saw crews called out at 4.35am on the same day. Firefighters from Heanor and Ilkeston put out the fire by 5.45am and two nearby houses were ventilated.
