Work to develop the new children’s play area at Beaulieu Way, Swanwick, is underway.
Amber Valley Borough Council, alongside a private developer, are working to build new play equipment and refurbish some of the existing features.
The area will include a set of timber cradle swings, a rock and bowl roundabout, a multi-play climbing frame with slide and a jungle swing.
The see-saw, springie and flat seat swing will also be refurbished.
The old bark will be removed and replaced with grass and rubber matting
The council’s technical officer Richard Hodgkinson said: “The work is being done to make the play area a safer and more pleasing site for all those who visit it.”
Work will continue for the next month.
The park is expected to open to the public in time for the start of the Christmas holidays.
