Derbyshire Constabulary is taking part in the national month-long summer campaign, which runs from June 1 to 30.

As part of the crackdown, police across the county will be breath-testing drivers, with a focus on those who get behind the wheel the morning after a night out.

We’ll also be testing motorists for a number of controlled drugs, using a swab that is done at the roadside and confirms instantly whether a driver is under the influence.

Anyone caught and convicted of drink-driving will get a criminal record, lose their driving licence for at least a year and can even risk losing their job.

The campaign is aimed at highlighting the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and the devastation it can cause.

To report a drink-driver contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

If you witness an offence taking place call 999.
