An organisation running pre-school groups in Ripley has celebrated Easter with some egg-citing competitions.
The children who attend the Twistin Tots and Tinies and Tikes musical activity groups for under-fives held competitions at all three classes for the best homemade Easter eggs or Easter bonnets.
At Friday’s Tots session, at Planet Happy, three-year-old Ava took the top millinery prize for her egg-stravagant and inspired Lady Baa Baa headwear.
Two-year-old Joel took second spot with an Angry Birds-esque design, while Evie, 3, won the best bonnet at the afternoon Twistin Tikes class
Group leader Jacqui Davis said: “We had some fantastic creations and it was very hard to pick the winners as they were all so good.
“Some of the hats and eggs particularly stood out though due to the detail the children had added and it was fantastic to see so many of the children and parents taking part.”
Twistin Tots nowoffers the three classes to suit each stage of early years development.
The Tinies group is for ages 0-18 months; Tots for anyone up to five; and Tikes for ages three to five years.
Twistin Tots classes help young children with speech and language development, social skills, co-ordination, co-operation and movement.
They use simple actions that children can understand and a variety of props to assist children’s learning development and motor skills.
Twistin Tikes classes are designed for older children who can follow instructions and will help to prepare your children for school by teaching them key Early Years Foundation Stage concepts in a fun way.
New customers can book a free taster session using a voucher which is available to download from the website at www.twistintots.co.uk.
Classes now operate 13 times a week in six locations—Belper, Matlock, Little Eaton, Darley Abbey, Ripley and Spondon.
