Dad says thanks to children’s care unit

Friends and family of an Ironville dad are to host a fun-day in aid of the paediatric intensive care unit of Queen’s Medical Centre –to thank the staff that helped save his boy.

Young Olly Warriner, who is just over a year old, suffered from a bleed on the brain last August and was taken to the Nottingham hospital.

He stayed there for two months, but has now made a full recovery.

Dad Adam Warriner, 23, of New Road, Ironville is set to host a fun day on Saturday, August 10 at Codnor Park and Ironville Crossing Club on Monument Lane to raise funds for the hospital.

He said: “If it wasn’t for them he would have been dead. The money will help them buy new equipment, which could save another child’s life. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what we went through.”

The fun day is to feature a raffle with top prizes of a £100 barbecue, football tickets, a year’s Love Film subscription and many more. Children’s rides and entertainments will also be on offer. For more information head to
