POLICE have issued pictures of three ‘irresponsible’ youths who risked their lives and the lives of others by forcing open the doors of a train at Trowell Junction.
The 9.37pm service to Nottingham had stopped because of signalling problems, when the two girls and a boy pulled the emergency cord, forced the doors, and walked out along the tracks.
It happened on Sunday February 26 but British Transport Police have only just released these CCTV images.
Investigating officer Pc Joseph Jenkins said they had ‘clearly disregarded the safety of others and themselves’.
“This was a reckless act which could have quite easily resulted in someone being badly injured in addition to causing unnecessary delays to hundreds of passengers on the service,” he said.
“Trespassing on the tracks is incredibly risky and can result in dire consequences.
“The railway is an extremely dangerous environment.
“It is vital that we identify these people.”
