Police are trying to trace two people who potentially witnessed a van hitting a horse and its rider.
At 10.30am on Friday, a woman was riding a horse along Aldecar Lane, Langley Mill, when a van tried to squeeze past.
The van made contact with the horse and as a result it threw the rider to the ground, injuring her.
Officers are keen to trace a man who was walking along the street pushing a pushchair and a man who was driving a Volvo V70 who stopped to speak to the rider.
Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
