The Deputy Chief Constable of Derbyshire has thanked police support staff for not going on strike last week.
The Unison public sector industrial action saw around 90 per cent of the region’s schools close.
But at the Ripley-based Derbyshire Constabulary, just 57 staff from a total of 1,000 joined the picket line.
Deputy Chief Constable Alan Goodwin said: “Thursday was business as usual.
“The vast majority of our staff came to work and I’m particularly pleased that nearly 100 per cent of front line staff were there to provide visibility and reassurance to the communities of Derbyshire.”
