A RIPLEY man charged with manslaughter has been sent for trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
Darren Wielowski, 40, is accused of the manslaughter of 36-year-old Richard Peake.
Mr Peake, of Laurel Avenue, Ripley, died at Wielowski’s home shortly after in Derby Road, Ripley, last September 27, from a drug overdose.
The following day, a Nottingham Forest flag had been left outside the flat in tribute, alongside a single bunch of flowers.
Wielowski appeared before magistrates at Chesterfield on Monday and indicated no plea to the charge.
District Judge Andrew Davison sent him for trial at the crown court on February 24. He granted bail on condition Wielowski did not contact prosecution witnesses and the deceased’s family.
An inquest into Mr Peake’s death was opened in Chesterfield in September and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
