A man walked into News 4 U on Market Place and approached the counter with his face covered at around 6am on Monday, April 29 .

The man then sprayed a can of liquid at a shop assistant – who managed to duck out of the way.

The shop worker called to a colleague to ring police and the suspect ran off along Wilmot Street away from the Market Place.

No-one was injured during the incident and nothing was stolen.

The suspect was around six feet tall and of slim build. His face was completely covered with a scarf.
