Riddings duo sentenced for stabbing

Two men have been jailed after a man was stabbed at a house in Ripley.

Gary Cross (38) and Andrew Robbins (36) broke into the house of Robbins’ ex-partner in Butterley Mews, Ripley, on August 19, 2012 and assaulted her new partner.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, suffered serious stab wounds to his body.

Cross and Robbins went on the run across the country but eventually handed themselves in to police on September 6. Both men were arrested and charged with unlawful wounding.

They were both sentenced to 37 months in prison at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, February 26.
