Lorry driver in teen robber knife drama

A lorry driver was threatened with a knife by a teenage robber in Somercotes on Sunday.

The attempted robbery took place at 12.50pm on Wimsey Way.

The driver was asleep in the cab of his lorry when he was approached by a youth who opened the passenger door.

He brandished a knife and demanded money.

But the driver refused to hand over any cash and the youth ran away.

He is described as being white, in his mid to late teens, about 5ft 5ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing wearing dark trousers and a dark hooded top.
