Kilburn man assaulted as he walked home

Police have issued an appeal for information after a man was assaulted as he walked home.

The victim had entered a communal entrance to flats in Chapel Street, Kilburn, when two men followed him inside.

He was struck to the back of his head and, after falling to the floor, was kicked and punched several times.

The victim managed to get away.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area or running away from the flat.

Both offenders were wearing dark clothing with hoods pulled up over their heads.

Details about the assault, which happened at about 1.20am on Thursday, May 28, have only just been released by police.
