In court after throwing food

A FREE breakfast ended up costing a Langley Mill man £320 after he lost his cool in a police cell.

Karl Beeson, 22, became involved in a neighbour dispute and was arrested and was taken to Chesterfield police station.

A court heard he began shouting and swearing, and asking when his case would be dealt with. He smeared food and spittle over a cell camera. Baked beans were pasted on the door and two blankets.

Beeson, of Milnhay Road, admitted damaging a police cell on October 14. He was fined £115, with £85 costs, and ordered to pay £120 compensation for cleaning the cell.

“He was apologetic and he offered to clean up the mess.

“He was under the influence of alcohol and very upset, saidMatt Evans, for Beeson.
