A FRESH appeal for information in a bid to catch a hit-and-run biker who collided with an OAP and then fled, has been issued.

The woman’s son this week said his mother’s life had been turned upside down after the incident.

Margaret Benjamin, 74, was injured as she crossed Derby Road in Marehay on Sunday, January 8 at around 5pm.

The collision left Margaret with two severely broken bones below her left knee and fearing she may never walk again.

Her son Tim, 54, from London this week said Margaret is back home, but enduring a painful recovery.

“We have a bed downstairs for her now and a nurse that comes in twice a day. Friends organise meals for her.”

Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses. CCTV footage of a motorcyclist the force is trying to trace can be viewed at
