Contractor pleads guilty to breaching health guidelines

A Heanor demolition contractor pleaded guilty to three charges of breaching the health and safety at work Act 1974 –for work carried out at the former Jolly Colliers pub last year

Colin Rogers, 59, of Milbank, was principal contractor for the demolition of the Jessop Street pub, Ripley, in May of last year, during which time three separate members of the public saw what they regarded to be unsafe work at height and complained to the Health and Safety Executive.

He will now be sentenced on September 27.
