Police are appealing for information after a brake fluid pipe was damaged on a car in Heanor.
It is thought the incident happened while the car was parked on Stainsby Avenue sometime between 8am on Saturday, June 29, and 10am on Sunday, June 30.
The driver of the Mini noticed the brakes were not working on the vehicle as they tried to turn the car and it is thought the pipe may have been cut.
PC Lindsey Howitt said: “Damaging the brakes of a vehicle could have serious consequences, and may have caused the driver, passengers or even other road users to be hurt.
“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and would urge anyone who knows anything about this, or may have noticed anything suspicious to contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, the non emergency number, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
