BMW smashes into parked car in Chesterfield in the early hours

A BMW driver crashed into the back of a parked Ford on Walton Road, Chesterfield, police say.

Officers say a road sign was also damaged in the collision which took place in the early hours of this morning.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit were called to the scene, and reported details of the incident.

Police say the driver of the BMW has been reported for driving without due care and attention.

An officer tweeted just before 2.30am on Sunday morning to say: "Walton Road, Chesterfield. Driver of BMW crashes into rear of parked Ford. Wipes out a road sign in the process.

"Contributory factor undoubtedly alcohol - blew just below the drink drive limit. Reported for driving without due care and attention."
